Campaign Operations
Audit your cold email setup: domain config, warmup status, content flags, sending patterns, and inbox placement. Fix deliverability before it kills your campaigns. Free Claude skill.
[deliverability]The Problem
You wrote great emails. You built a targeted list. You launched the campaign. Open rate: 8%. Not because the emails are bad, but because they're landing in spam.
Deliverability is the invisible layer that determines whether your emails even reach the inbox. SPF, DKIM, DMARC records. Domain age and reputation. Warmup status. Sending volume patterns. Content spam triggers. Any one of these being wrong can tank your entire outbound program, and most teams don't know where to look.
The worst part is that deliverability issues are silent. You don't get an error message. Your emails just quietly disappear into spam folders while you wonder why nobody's responding.
What It Does
Deliverability Audit checks your cold email infrastructure and identifies issues that could be hurting inbox placement. It reviews domain configuration, warmup status, sending patterns, and email content for red flags, then provides prioritized fixes.
Every output includes:
Example
[deliverability] Audit my cold email setup. I'm using 3 sender accounts on Instantly, sending to about 100 leads per day. Open rates dropped from 45% to 15% over the last 2 weeks.1. Volume spike detected
Going from 0 to 100/day too fast, or recent volume increase. Recommendation: drop to 30/day across 3 accounts (10 each) and ramp back up over 2 weeks.
2. Warmup may be insufficient
With a 30-point open rate drop, your accounts may have been flagged. Check warmup stats in Instantly — you need 95%+ inbox placement on warmup emails before scaling sends.
3. Sending gap too short
At 100 emails across 3 accounts, your sending gap might be under 5 minutes per account. Recommendation: minimum 8-10 minute gap between emails.
4. Open tracking enabled
Open tracking pixels are the #1 deliverability killer in cold email. If you have open tracking on, turn it off immediately. Track reply rate instead.
5. Content review needed
Share your email content for a spam trigger analysis. Common culprits: too many links (keep to 0-1), HTML formatting, spam words like “guaranteed” or “free trial.”
6. Add a custom tracking domain if not already set up
7. Ensure all 3 sender accounts are on separate domains (not subdomains of the same root)
8. Check that DMARC is set to p=none (not p=reject) for new sending domains
1. Immediately: Turn off open tracking, reduce to 30/day total
2. This week: Verify warmup health on all 3 accounts, check SPF/DKIM/DMARC
3. Next 2 weeks: Slowly ramp volume back up (add 5/day/account per week)
4. Ongoing: Monitor weekly, never exceed 50/day/account on domains under 6 months old
Issues found: 8 (2 critical, 3 likely, 3 quick wins)
Root cause probability: Volume + tracking pixel combination
Recovery timeline: 2-3 weeks with fixes applied
Time to generate: ~12 seconds

Start using it
Type `[deliverability]` followed by your current setup details — number of sender accounts, daily volume, open/reply rates, and any recent changes. The skill audits your configuration and provides prioritized fixes.
Use Cases
When open rates fall off a cliff, run a deliverability audit before blaming the copy. The problem is usually infrastructure, not messaging.
Before scaling to high volume, verify that your setup can handle it. Catching issues before launch prevents wasted leads.
When setting up new domains for cold email, run the audit to verify SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and warmup are all configured properly.
Run a monthly audit as preventive maintenance. Deliverability degrades slowly — catching issues early prevents crises.
The audit output is educational. Share it with your team so everyone understands why certain practices (like open tracking) harm deliverability.
